North Carolina, "First in Enforcement," is on FIRE and ICE! North Carolina has a long history of being first. From the time of the American Revolution, the "Pitt Resolves," and "Halifax Resolves" to being "First in Flight," as evidenced by the state license plate to commemorate the Wright brothers historic flight at Kill Devil Hill on the outer banks of North Carolina to this state's growing status as "First in Enforcement," Tarheels have a long history of being among the first to stand up for what is right. The North Carolina Legislature's ratification of Senate Bill S-229 will essentially mandate 287(g) participation, even though it doesn't specifically require it. Why is this such a big deal? Well, come January 01, 2008 all North Carolina jails will have to check the legal status of anyone arrested for a DWI or felony offense. That means the thousands of criminal illegal aliens passing through the North Carolina justice system will no longer be wearing the king's new clothes, and North Carolina law enforcement officers will no longer have their hands tied when it comes to combating the massive criminal illegal alien problems plaguing North Carolina counties, cities, and towns. |
